A Question Everyone Must Ask

Happy New Year again my people.
I believe you are settling in well into 2018 and looking forward to a great time of absolute rest.
You would have noticed I did not write to you on setting goals for the New Year because I know by now that you have set goals, targets and you have drawn out plans to achieve them.
I was privileged to attend a leadership training session last weekend and I learnt something very important to my growth and this is why I believe that we can never stop learning, no matter how old, rich, exposed or intelligent we are. I was taught and I will put it simply that it is paramount to understand our WHY when we embark on a journey of fulfilling or achieving a purpose, because when you understand your WHY, it will drive you even in your toughest days.
Here is an illustration out of the many ones from my Saturday session. If you want to go to a shop to buy groceries for example, and you intend to go to this shop about 8 km from you, not because it is the only shop that you can buy from, infact the shop has a store about 4 km away from your present location. You may have chosen to go to the farther one because it is a bigger store and you feel it is better to buy from there as you stand the chance of getting everything you need at a go. However, you have a number of factors to consider. You have checked the traffic, it is heavy, you have limited time, you will have a meeting at some point and it goes on. You are left with deciding if you should go to the store 8km away or the one 4km away. See if your WHY for going to the shop farther away is not strong, believe me, you will just give up and go to the shop closer to you. The illustration might sound simple, after all, it is just groceries and I can always go another day but the truth is if your WHY is strong, then WHY not now?
I share this with you because it is the same with everything about life. If your reason, why, and motive (whatever name we may want to call it) for pursuing the goals you have written out for 2018 are not strong enough, you will not go about pursuing them or push yourself, to make them achievable.
For some, the rain will prevent them, for some others, it may too sunny today to go and meet that client. For some others, they do not have the financial capabilities; they cannot start small, it has to be big. Nevertheless, if your why is strong enough, you will see things are not that scary. Those challenges that can bring you down will only try but you will find yourself rising up to the task ahead.
So, I will leave with you today, a question, which you may need to answer and say aloud to remind yourself, whenever you are face with obstacles that may prevent you from achieving those goals and the question is WHY do I want this?
To Your Transformation
